Specialised eye care for patients from abroad

If you live outside Albania and are considering an appointment in Tirana, this page explains how the process works, from your first message to follow-up care.

Request a consultation

Seven steps from first message to follow-up

  1. Step 1: Initial Contact

Send a short request with your contact details and a brief description of your concern. Please do not send medical reports through the form.

  2. Step 2: Preliminary Assessment

We contact you to understand your situation and, where appropriate, review earlier reports to plan your visit. This is not a diagnosis.

  3. Step 3: Appointment

Together we agree on a date for an in-person appointment in Tirana.

  4. Step 4: Travel to Tirana

You plan your journey. Tirana International Airport has direct flights from many European cities.

  5. Step 5: Examination

Diagnosis and treatment decisions are made only after an appropriate clinical examination in Tirana.

  6. Step 6: Treatment, if clinically appropriate

If treatment is recommended, the options, possible risks and expected recovery are discussed with you before any decision is made.

  7. Step 7: Follow-up

Follow-up is planned with you. It may include check-ups in Tirana or coordination with your eye doctor at home.

Travelling to Tirana

Tirana is the capital of Albania. Tirana International Airport (TIA) has direct flights from many European cities.

Allow time for recovery when you plan your stay. After some eye procedures, flying has to be postponed, for example while a gas bubble remains in the eye. This is discussed with you individually.
